Hiking in the Cilento
Ca' del Borgo lies within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: one of the largest parks in Italy, with trails running from the sea to the mountains.
Here are the routes we recommend to our guests, from easy walks a few minutes from the B&B to half-day hikes. And when you get back, there's the pool.
Practical tips
- The best seasons are April to June and September to October. In summer, set off at dawn.
- Always bring water: many trails have no fountains.
- Hiking boots for the Calore gorges and Monte Stella; comfortable shoes are enough for the coast.

Where to walk around Ca' del Borgo
Trentova and Punta Tresino trails
About 10 min by car · easy to moderate
Behind Trentova Bay, in Agropoli, starts the trail network of the Trentova-Tresino nature reserve: about 10 km of clifftop paths above the sea, through olive groves and Mediterranean scrub, with paths down to the coves. The most scenic hike in the area.
Towards Punta Licosa
About 35 min by car · easy
From Ogliastro Marina, a walk through pine woods and along the rocks leads to the Punta Licosa headland, facing the islet with its lighthouse. You're walking in a marine protected area: bring your swimsuit, the coves are worth a dip.
Gole del Calore
In Felitto · a trail of about 1 hr 20 min
The Calore river flows between rock walls, woods and old bridges. The trail along the gorges, in Felitto, is one of the most beautiful inland. In summer you can swim in the river pools, or go down the gorges by canoe.
Monte Stella
About 40 min by car · moderate
The mountain that symbolises the ancient Cilento, over 1,100 metres high. At the top is the sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella, and on clear days the view takes in the whole Cilento coast and the Gulf of Salerno.

On the hottest days, an alternative to the trails is the Castelcivita Caves: inside, it's cool all year round.
