Agropoli's beaches

Agropoli's sea was awarded the Blue Flag again in 2026 for five stretches of coast: the San Marco seafront, the harbour beach, Trentova, Torre San Marco and Licina. Within a few kilometres you'll find sandy beaches for families, sheltered bays and rocky shores for snorkelling.

From Ca' del Borgo, in Ogliastro Cilento, Agropoli's sea is about a 10-minute drive. Here's a short guide to help you choose the right beach.

Practical tips

  • In August, arrive early: the car parks near the beaches fill up fast.
  • For Trentova and the coves, bring water shoes and a snorkel mask.
  • With a dog: Lido Aurora in Agropoli accepts small dogs; for a day out with dogs of any size there's the very well-equipped Bau Bau Beach in Eboli.
  • On the hottest afternoons, the B&B's pool is a good alternative to a crowded beach.

The beaches

The most beautiful beaches in Agropoli

Trentova Bay

  • Blue Flag
  • Rocks and pebbles
  • Trails

Agropoli's most famous beach, and one of the most beautiful in the Cilento: a bay of rocks and pebbles between the headland and Punta Tresino, with clear water and the Trentova rock in the middle. Behind it starts the trail network of the Trentova-Tresino nature reserve, about 10 km of paths with sea views. There are beach club areas, bars and car parks.

San Marco seafront

  • Blue Flag
  • Sand
  • Beach clubs and free beach

The long sandy beach that starts from the town centre and stretches for a few kilometres, with shallow water. There are beach clubs, such as Lido Aurora and Lido Venere, and a large free beach. Parking along the seafront is paid, about €2 an hour.

San Francesco beach

  • Small bay
  • No facilities

A small, sheltered bay at the foot of the old-town headland, with a rock and a cross just off the shore. You get down via a scenic stairway; there are no facilities, so bring everything you need.

Harbour beach

  • Blue Flag
  • In town

The free beach next to the marina: you can walk there from the centre, with bars and restaurants a few steps away. Handy for a quick swim before dinner.

Francesco's favourite

Ogliastro Marina

It isn't in Agropoli, but it's the beach Francesco recommends most: about ten minutes beyond Castellabate, near Punta Licosa, with spectacular water. There's both free beach and a few beach clubs, such as Lido Sirena.

From the sea

By boat to Punta Licosa

To see the coast from the water, Submania Agropoli runs trips from Agropoli harbour: in small groups of about 10 people you sail from Trentova Bay past Punta Licosa to Acciaroli, with swimming stops and lunch on board.

Beyond Agropoli

The rest of the Cilento coast

Heading south, in about 25 minutes you reach Santa Maria di Castellabate and its sandy beaches. Further on, for a day trip, there are Acciaroli, Palinuro and the coves of Marina di Camerota. To the north is the long sandy shore of Paestum, but in July and August we recommend the beaches of Agropoli and Castellabate for swimming.
